Deploy Prometheus on Out Plane — the open-source systems monitoring and alerting toolkit originally built at SoundCloud and now a CNCF graduated project. Prometheus uses a pull-based model to scrape metrics from instrumented targets, stores them as time-series data, and provides PromQL — a powerful query language for aggregation and alerting.

Prometheus includes service discovery for Kubernetes, Consul, and DNS, enabling automatic target detection as your infrastructure scales. The built-in Alertmanager handles deduplication, grouping, and routing of alerts to Slack, PagerDuty, email, and webhooks. Self-hosting on Out Plane gives you full control over retention periods and scrape configurations.
